ATTENTION!

Boy the things Brayden will do to get a little attention!

Brayd started feeling sick Wed. evening so I chalked it up to the flu thats been going around these parts lately. Thurs morning he woke up and felt good so being the mean mother I am, I sent him out the door to school, only to get a phone call a few hours later from his teacher informing me I needed to come pick him up. Apperantly he was laying on the floor in his classroom in the fetal position because his stomach hurt so bad. I brought him home and he immediatley started throwing up. I ran him over to the doctor to have a strep test done thinking his fever, sore throat, now stomach cramps and throwing up were symtoms of Strep that had been going around our ward and his class. The test was negative, so I brought him home and proceeded to stay up with him all night while he was throwing up.
Around 4 AM he started complaining his side hurt, and again I chalked it up to stomach cramps. Come on, I had just taken him to the doctor a few hours before and was told it was a virus, give him plenty of fluids and keep him home from school for a few days.
I didn't really think much more about it until around 8:30 that morning (Friday). By this time he couldn't get out of bed to throw up, he could hardly roll onto his side to throw up into the bucket. I just thought he was exhausted from being sick all night and not being able to keep anything down for almost 24 hours. I kept trying to talk to him, and he wouldn't respond to me. I had to physically shake him and get right in his face to try and get his attention. This is when I got really scared. If any of you have ever experienced this with your child, you know what I'm talking about. It's just the look on their face, and I'm sure the spirit telling you something is not right. So now what do you do? I'd just had him at the dr. the night before, and I don't want to be "one of those moms"... you all know what I'm talking about. But I ended up calling his Pediatrition, not the Dr. we saw the night before, and left a message about his condition. His nurse called about 20 minutes later and said they wanted to see him right away, how fast could I get there. I got him in the car as fast as he could walk, because it hurt too much for me to even touch him, ran Ellie to my Mom, and took Brayden to see Dr. Kramer. I wasn't there 5 minutes before Dr. Kramer was informing me Brayden needed to be hospitalized for dehydration, and possibly appendicids. I tell you, this Doctor is a miracle worker. I decided I'd had enough of Davis North Hospital, and would make the treck to Primary Childrens Hospital. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made. The doctors and nurses there are AMAZING!

A few hours later, a lot of pokes in the stomach later, and much to my horror, they were taking my little boy down a long hall, away from me, to take his bad appendix out. Luckily it wasn't ruptured, and we had gotten to it in time. He is now, after 3 days in the hospital, home and resting somewhat comfortably.

It's amazing what the spirit will tell you, if only you will listen and heed the promptings...

I'll post some pictures later, as soon as I can see straight...I'm sooooo exhusted

Wow! What an experience. I hope that Brayden starts feeling better soon. That must have been awful for everyone. Keep us posted on how he is doing.

I've been wanting to call you, but it has been crazy busy here. We are sure glad that everything went okay. Poor thing. Uncle Howard, me and now Brady all had to suffer at the ripe ol' age of 7-8. Crazy! Tell Brady that we love him and are thinking of him.

Love you guys!
